Friday, June 4th, 2010Known for its high precision watch making technique, the century old brand Chopard is provoking an adventurous designed chronograph, Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph. This series is a great combination of bold aesthetical conception and majestic timekeeping function.
The series is named after the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique vintage vehicle competition (a race that is thrown by vintage vehicle lovers each two years, which evokes over 200 vintage vehicles from especially America, Britain, Germany, France and Italy, many famous brands like Bugatti, Delage and Alfa Romeo etc involved). As a cooperator of that contest, Chopard especially designed a watch series, the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph series.
Esthetically, Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph features bold design. Calculated in 42.5mm, the watch case is 14.9mm thick. There are two materials for the watch case. One is the refined steel while the other is 18k rose gold. At the bottom of the case is inscribed with the marks of GPMH and Automobile Club de Monaco. The dial features contrasting silver to the case, with black, orange or blue marking circle. This is well matched with the blue, silver or orange marking circle in the bezel. Collocated with genuine leather or refined stainless steel strap, the whole timepiece expresses a wonderful presence.
Technically, Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph is equipped with marvelous functions. Driven by a mechanic self-winding mechanism, the watch could reserve power to 48 hours. It has passed the COSC authentication. It displays the hour, minute, and date all in the main dial. The 12 hours timekeeping dial, the 30 minutes dial and the second hand showcase are at 3, 9, and below 12 o’clock position respectively.. The markings and hands are all coated with superluminova, which enables them to be clearly checked even at the dim night. It is very compelling and advanced.
