As their names imply, mechanical watch operates by mechanical movement and quartz watch moves by quartz electronic. The most obvious different is, mechanical watches don’t need to change batteries but quartz watches do. Besides, they have the following differences.
Mechanical watches are activated by winding up, you don’t have to change battery but every 3 to 5 years, the watches need wash oil. Quartz watch has quartz electronic battery and the change rate of battery is about two years, it offers more accurate time and the state error standard for quartz watch is 15 seconds per month.
